should like to record my appreciation of the services rendered by that portion of the Hongkong Polios which served under my

command from the 6th August to 5th September, 1914.

I would ask Your Excellency to convey to

the Honourable the Captain Superintendent of Pelice my thanks

for the thorough and willing way in which thay carried out their duties. To ir Messer too, personally, I am indebted for his close and cordial co-operation at all times.
